July Monthly Board Meeting

July 15, 2025 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Meeting Mins are below:

Town of Hamburg
Town Board Mtg, July 15th, 2025
Volume 7-2025

Present at the meeting: Tim Servais, Jackie Stalsberg, Jill Gettelman, Kyle Semke and Brad Peters, Town Patrolman Eric Ostrem – Zoning Dennis Berg
Sign in sheet also filled out by all in attendance.

Minutes: Minutes from June meeting read thru and approved. Motion made and 2nd to approve last month’s meeting.

From the Floor – Stuart Sill looking to build additional house on the farm property, building for his daughter. Not looking to have her buy land. But not sure what the rules are for doing this. She is not active member of the farm. The board is ok with Stuart doing a 2 acres parcel & easement and putting this on separate tax roll. He will go to Vernon Cty and Sanitation. He will get all this paperwork figured out and come back to the town board.

Tim Morgan is looking for the permit for the Rod & Gun – Jackie will supply him with this. He is wondering what was approved. There is a lot of larger guns being shot and it is getting little over the top.

Zoning Report – Greg Martin is asking for survey map approved regarding land that would be land locked. LaCrosse Cty and Town of Greenfield only have 20 ft requirements. We require 40 ft. But the board does not see this effect Town of Hamburg town lines. They are asking for survey map to be approved. We do not have any say on this size of lot. The board and zoning agree that this ok, approved.

Eli Mast on Bunker Hill – submitted the form, but no map or no pictures. They are putting “skid house”. Dennis will be visiting with them on Wednesday. The skid house is movable, the board is asking if the house will be anchor down. He will find out for sure.

Scott Herlitzke building extra shed. All paperwork is being turned in.

Fire meeting, talked about Water Truck/tanker w/ pump – price is $595K. The board asked if they are putting any money up front for this. They will fund raise for what this fall? Will this money be put towards this purchase. The board is fighting for this approval. The villages and some townships are not able to pay for this. The Township pays a large amount money each year and this will make our price increase for sure.

Treasurer Report – Reviewed all the deposits for the month.
Deposit – $2054.50
Total Net-worth – $208,338.42

Credit Card payments are going to be a must for this upcoming tax year. There will be fee for processing credit fee, but this fee will be property owner responsibility, not the township. 2.99% will be charged to the property owner. We have to do this and then funds will be transferred to our account. This is a new program Jill will be working with VC on August.

MWT email – Jill is concerned that she heard we will be losing our mwt.net email address. Brad was going to look into this more. He is not aware of any being taking away. At this time they are not issuing new mwt.net email addresses, but we are not telling anyone they are disappearing either.

Motion made and 2nd and approved. Made by Brad and 2nd by Kyle for the treasurer report.

Clerks Report: Discussed the financial report.

Jackie discussed the bills for the month and walked thru each. Motion made and 2nd for making payments of bills for the month.

Jackie will continue to keep this LRIP program with Vernon County

Yearly garbage bids are on hold at this time. The bid pricing has not changed with whom we have with now, Big Hook will continue and we are waiting on what Vernon Cty landfill is instructing us for recycle product. We will continue to use VC for the recycle products, but we are looking out for what is best for township and saving money is the key.

Jackie is working on newsletter, we will not mail them out, but we will have it posted online and have posting in the dump area and maybe some copies run to hand out.

Chairmans Report: Fahner has been visiting the Hohlfeld Road several times during the month. They disagreed that the road does not need to be repaired. They agreed to only doing portion of this and they would not guarantee the project. The Board has agreed that they would not use them and will do the 2025 Seal Coating on any roads. They have made motion we will not accept this and we will NOT do any roads for the year. This savings will be placed in our slush fund at the end of the year and use when, where we need. The board will continue to monitor the roads and if there is something that needs to be done we will review.

Phil Hewitt, did come and look intersection on Hohlfeld/Schlicht and concern the safety of this intersection. He is going to look at where the state right away and try to see if we can get some support on doing this area due to safety. He will get back to Tim Servais

Cemetery Lane – the road and property Tom Collen was torn up when he black-topped their driveway. The road does have some patching, and we will work on some of it, but there is not much more we can do. The board talked about milling the road and then possible dbl seal. We will not do anything 2025 year, since the budget is done but we will put on the list to review for next year.

Patrolman’s Report: Parking lot was completed ahead of time. They were able to get this worked in and completed. It looks really nice.

Curt from the dump is asking for new steps for the dump, they are falling apart. Eric will get this taken care of and welding them.

Eric is still working on trying to find a part time snow plow driveway

Woodruff’s barn on the property. Fire Dept may use as controlled burn. The township agrees that we need to help get this cleaned up. The road will need to be reviewed/repaired as it is pretty rough. We will need to fix a patches.

Eric will start mowing all this week.
He ordered cold patch rock.
The bridge inspection for LietkeLane come thru.
WisLar program is being worked on and he is entering this in the database.

Money at the end of the year, since we will have leftovers for no seal coating we will look at money management possible use.

Next Meeting Date: Next meeting will be August 19th, 2025 at 6 p.m.

Adjournment: Motion and made to adjourn regular meeting at 6:50

Respectfully submitted,
Jackie Stalsberg, Clerk – Town of Hamburg
